Contour Landscaping, Inc. specializes in Landscape Design/Construction and Maintenance for both commercial and residential properties. More than just a landscaping company, they are also a full service Commercial and Industrial snow removal business.

When Scott Schoeller first ventured into landscaping 31 years ago, he was in his early 20s and was not really intending for it to become a career. “I was your basic kid with eight lawns to mow and a rental trailer on the back of my Opel Kadet”, recalls Schoeller. “I had already served an internship as a jack-of-all trades and I enjoyed cutting grass, running the lawn mower and working outside. I found I also like running the show.” Before Scott started his landscaping business, he managed a gas station from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then went to work as a package sorter for UPS from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. When he decided to start his business, he continued working for UPS at night and lived off that income. This made it possible for him to put the money from landscaping back into the company for the first year.

Based in Skokie in its original location, Contour Landscaping, Inc. has a seasonal staff of up to 25 and 4 to 5 employees year-round. Residential landscape maintenance is the bread-and-butter of the company with a good percentage of residential design-build work. Snow plowing has become a substantial division, focusing on commercial and industrial clients in addition to several condominiums.

Customer service is a major focus for Contour Landscaping and Snow Removal. “Growth is great but satisfied, happy customers are what make things happen. We educate our customers with newsletters and make sure they understand the importance of quality landscaping and snow removal and then give them a little more than what they expect.”
